Travon D. Golden, 22, of Canandaigua was charged with second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of 21-year-old Tyler McBain of Vernon, Oneida County, on Tuesday afternoon, said New York State Police Trooper Jack Keller. The slaying occurred during an argument inside McBain's home. McBain was pronounced dead at the scene.* What do you think?
Witnesses saw a man run from the residence and a dark-colored sport utility vehicle leave the scene. Keller said troopers spotted the suspect vehicle on the Thruway later than afternoon and pursued the vehicle until it crashed off Roue 318 in Junius, Seneca County.
Keller said authorities apprehended Golden near the crash site on Tuesday, but have not yet located the second man who fled the damaged SUV. Authorities were involved in a manhunt on Tuesday and Wednesday near the crash site.
Keller said it was not yet clear what the second man's role was in connection with the homicide.
