DAILYKENN.com -- Janosch Joushua Belle reportedly said, "I just wasn't thinking," when he pulled the trigger. 

Belle is accused of shooting Thomas Edelen, 18, in the head. The incident occurred at Belle's family home while he was showing Edelen his "assault-style" rifle.  

The victim was declared dead at the scene. The incident occurred in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on July 4, 2020.

In a report, Belle told authorities that he disassembled the weapon, cleaned it, and then reassembled it. The accused then loaded the magazine, pulled the slide, and loaded a bullet into the chamber. While pointing the rifle at Edelen, Belle pulled the trigger and shot the victim in the head. Belle told officials, "I just wasn't thinking," after firing the gun.
