DAILYKENN.com --The youngest of NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's five children was arrested after allegedly stabbing a neighbor.
Adam Abdul-Jabbar was taken into custody in San Clemente, California, but later released on $25,000 bond.
Reports say the victim transported himself to a hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.
The victim is identified by losangeles.cbslocal.com as 60-year-old Ray Winsor.
Winsor said he approached Adam at about 9:30 p.m. and spoke with him about not taking out the trash for an older woman who lives at the house and who Adam reportedly refers to as “grammy.”
“He said, ‘Shut your mouth, I’m gonna stick a knife through your teeth,'” Winsor said. “I said, ‘Really,’ because I thought he was only joking. I’ve known the kid for a long time.
“I turned, and he was on me,” Winsor said. “I thought he was punching me, but he actually had a knife. After the fourth punch, I felt a very sharp pain and noticed blood coming out of me, and then I had one to the top of my head, and I was trying to get back to my house and he was in front of me.”
According to dailystarpost.com, the victim was stabbed seven times.
Rachel Winsor, 26, who grew up playing with Adam Abdul-Jabbar, 28, in the California neighborhood where the attack took place, said she is terrified the Lakers’ legend’s son will launch a fresh attack on her father Ray Winsor after the suspect was released on bail and headed straight to the victim’s home to apologize to his wife Sheila.
‘What if he wants to come finish off the job?’ the distraught daughter said in an interview with the New York Post.
The daughter of the 60-year-old neighbor who was stabbed seven times by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s son in an argument in the street over ‘trash cans’ has said she now fears for her parents’ lives.
Abdul-Jabbar stands 6'7" and weighs 180 lbs, according to the booking sheet, reports say. The sheet indicates the suspect is employeed by Gamestop, a consumer electronics retailer, according to nypost.com.
