DAILYKENN.com -- Karliegh Miller was found shot in the back inside a vehicle in Louisville, Kentucky. The 19 year old was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Taken into custody was Demond Haynes, 20, who has been charged in her death.

Reports say Haynes claims the shooting was an accident.

He has been "charged with murder, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon," according to wave3.com.

Reports say Haynes was Miller's boyfriend.

According to wlky.com ▼

She had just turned 19, and was finishing high school online. Karleigh was Mike Miller's only daughter.

"A young lady who was trying to find her way in life, just was in the wrong circle," said Miller.

Part of Karleigh's "wrong circle" Miller says, was her boyfriend, Demond Haynes, who is now charged with her murder.

"I told my daughter my feelings about him and his character. I've met him. I've talked to him. He's been in my house when I've been here," said Miller.

Police say Haynes was arrested while trying to take Karleigh to University Hospital after shooting her outside her apartment complex.

"From what we know with the investigation, she was shot in her back. She was in the driver's seat. They tried to move her from the driver's seat to the passengers seat," said Miller.

Karleigh was pronounced dead at the hospital. Miller says it still hasn't sank in that his daughter is gone, but what has set in is just how bad his daughter's relationship was.

"When she was really scared, she did call me, and she would text me and say Dad I know you're going to tell me I told you so," said Miller.

In the days since her murder, he's heard from her friends who knew even more about her relationship with Haynes. Now, he just hopes no one else has to go through what he has.

"I don't think any woman or person should have to fear for their life when you give your love to somebody," said Miller.

Haynes is charged with murder, drug possession and being a felon in possession of a handgun. Miller says funeral arrangements for his daughter have not been finalized.
