DAILYKENN.com -- A Cook County jail guard suffered a fractured skull during a recent attack by detainees.
Reports identified the victim as "Officer Watt."
Two inmates reportedly attacked another guard without provocation.
When Watt came to assist the fallen officer he, too, was attacked.
"Officer Watt was knocked unconscious and struck his head on the concrete floor," a gofundme.com page reported.
"[H]e was transported to Mt. Sinai hospital where it was discovered he had a skull fracture and a brain bleed."
The first guard was apparently fought off a choke hold after being attacked from behind, reports say.
He was then attacked with a sock containing a bar of soap.
A third officer was attacked.
The attack was brought under control when, "A sergeant with a stun gun arrived and ordered the three detainees back into their cells, the sheriff’s office said."
