January 28, 2020 -- The "winner" is: St. Louis, Missouri. 

The list of America's five most dangerous cities, rated by murder count, was gleaned from FBI statistics and reported by Fox News. 

Following St. Louis in the number two slot was Baltimore, Maryland. While there was 60.9 homicides per 100,000 residents in St. Louis for body count of 186, there were 51 homicides per 100,000 people in Baltimore. The total dead there was 309. 

Detroit, Michigan came in third place with 38.9 murders per 100,000 resident, the report said. 261 were killed there. 

146 murders in New Orleans, Louisiana resulted in that city coming in fourth place with 37.1 homicides per 100,000 residents. 

Batan Rouge, Louisiana came in fifth place with 35.1 homicides per 100,000, or 87 murders. 

The statistics were for 2018.
