Apparently University of Minnesota wants to maintain religious neutrality during the Christmas season.  Let's see if the school insists on religious neutrality during Ramadan. Let's see if the school bans burkas. 

It appears the school is only concerned with religious neutrality during Christian holidays.

‘Bows’ and ‘wrapped gifts’ now offensive on campus

An academic department at the University of Minnesota declared that “bows/wrapped gifts” are “not appropriate for gatherings and displays at this time of year.”

Encouraging employees to "consider neutral-themed parties such as ‘winter celebration,’” the document even suggests avoiding color combinations associated with Christmas or Hanukkah.

According a copy of the guidelines obtained by Campus Reform, UMN’s College of Food, Agricultural, and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS) encouraged its employees “to recognize holidays in ways that are respectful of the diversity of our community,” recommending a series of steps to take.
