A man has been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing and shooting of a Randolph County dad.
Eugene Staley Sr., 47, was found dead in a Ramseur home at about 2:45 a.m. on Nov. 20.
Authorities said the victim's 8-year-old child was also injured in the incident.
Neighbors told WXII 12 News that the child knocked on their door, not wearing a shirt or shoes, reporting his father had been killed.
Neighbors then called 911.
Police believe Staley was shot to death and also suffered stab wounds.
Police said the boy has injuries consistent with a beating, including open wounds, bruises and contusions on various parts of his body. He was taken to a Randolph County hospital before being transferred to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
