DAILYKENN.com -- The John Locke Foundation ranks states by their freedom.
Is your state at the top? Or near the bottom?
Tragically, we live in an era in which personal liberty has been eclipsed by "civil rights."
Our children are taught that government force is required to impose Marxian equality. George Washington and Betsy Ross have been replaced by Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks as national heroes.
Demanding rights is a ruse to implement big government control.
Even in Indiana, the third "freest" state in the union, the Libertarian Party is rallying behind the militant gay rights movement in an effort to impose government force to create protected class status for homosexuals and, in so doing, snatch away freedom of association, freedom of religion, and the ability of businesses to hire and promote according their needs rather than government mandates.
The most free state in the union is Florida, second place goes to Arizona, third is Indiana, in fourth place is South Dakota, and the fifth most free state is Georgia. All five are Republicans.
The least free states are New York, New Jersey, California, West Virginia, and Kentucky.
