DAILYKENN.com -- A former high school basketball star has been charged with the murder of Cynthia Marie Boza, 45.
The victim's body was found discarded in the woods.
Arrested is 23-year-old Jacquise Candrell Moore.
The crime occurred in Concord, North Carolina and was reported Jan. 29, 2016.
Boza was reported missing by her family on December 6, 2015 to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. According to a Facebook page created by her family, she was last seen Dec. 3 driving away from her home in the 400 block of Jones Street in Charlotte. She was last seen driving a gold 2003 Ford Taurus.
Forysth Sheriff’s Office reports said Moore had a 2003 gold Ford Taurus at the time of his arrest.
Moore has various addresses in Concord, Mount Pleasant and Charlotte. The most recent known address was 8944 Wade St., Mount Pleasant, police said.
“During their investigation, detectives from CMPD obtained information putting Boza at 1101 Poole Place. A search of the residence and the property was being conducted jointly by Concord Police Department and CMPD at the time Boza’s body was found,” the press release said.
Concord Police has been working closely with CMPD in the investigation.
Moore is a former Concord High School football and basketball player. He was one of the leaders on the Spiders basketball team that finished second in the 2010 3-A state championships. He later played college ball at Wallace State and at Lees-McRae, where he graduated in May, 2015.
