December 2, 2015 -- Another white taxi driver was murdered in September during an apparent robbery attempt.

49-year-old Darren Bloomquist was fatally shot while operating his taxi in Denver.

Two black males were arrested this week for the crime: Dasean Perry, 19, and Nicholas McKinney, 18, are each charged with first-degree murder. McKinney was 17 at the time of the murder.

• Taxi drivers are often accused of racism for refusing to provide services to black males.

Two men have been charged in connection with the murder of a taxi driver on Sept. 5.

Dasean Perry, 19, and Nicholas McKinney, 18, are each charged with one count of first-degree murder in the killing of 49-year-old Darren Bloomquist.

Bloomquist was driving a taxi Sept. 5 when he was shot and killed in what police believe was an apparent robbery.

McKinney was 17 years old at the time of the shooting but will be charged as an adult.

Perry and McKinney are in custody and are being held without bond. They are scheduled to appear in Denver District Court Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. to be advised of their charges.
