Richard Wheeler, 73, and his wife Grace, 67, a local woman, were discovered at their home in the village of Carnbee.
Mrs Wheeler was found by a gardener yesterday morning on the lawn with a cut to her neck.
Officers then entered the home and found Mr Wheeler face down in a pool of blood with "chop wounds" to both arms and the back of the head.
The two men who have been arrested, Andre Romeo and Naajip Hills, are both construction workers and appeared before a magistrate yesterday.
Romeo, 29, is from Tobago and 23-year-old Hills is from the nearest island St Vincent.
A police statement at the time said: "An initial assessment suggests robbery as the possible motive as the bedroom and living room areas were ransacked.
"However, all avenues are being explored and all leads pursued."
Mr Wheeler was reportedly from Sheffield and worked for firm Lex Caribbean
