August 10, 2015 -- Are the African Americans? Or Africans in America?

The constant brawling in Memphis has business owners complaining as the violence and unsavory atmosphere is turning the city's lucrative tourists business away.

One newscaster interviewed an Italian couple who failed to see the problem (see video below). The couple seemed to be fresh off the boat. Or airliner.

Not all black Americans behave like savages nor are all brawler black. Nonetheless the most violent communities in America are black neighborhoods.

A brawl that was caught on camera started around 3am Friday morning near Blues City Cafe right at Second Street and Beale.

But those involved in the incident tell WREG, before the fight, the women involved exchanged words inside of Club 152, after one of them bumped into another.

We’re told one  group of ladies went outside and waited for the other group to come out, and that’s when the fight that was caught on camera began.

“I DJ. I’ve seen stuff but never that right there,” said William Jones, who saw the fight.

Jones said he had just walked out of Club 152 when it erupted.

“There were people running. Some trying to break them up,” he said. “It was chaotic.”

The girls pulled each other’s clothing, were punching and hitting for what witnesses said seemed to be an eternity.

Police told News Channel 3 they had no reports of the fight but people out there said officers broke it up.

“It didn’t take them long to get there,” said Jones. “They were a couple yards off.”

“When they heard it they came running?” WREG’s Wayne Carter asked.

“Right, right,” replied Jones.

We showed the video to Councilman Berlin Boyd who found it especially disturbing but said we have to put it in perspective.

“Over 5 million people visit Beale Street annually,” he said.  “Put that in perspective and the crime rate is statistically low,” said Boyd.

Tourists from Italy were shocked.

They said their experience visiting Memphis never made them worry about their safety.

“We had a great time,” said Laura Immoceodi.

“You’d come back?” Carter asked.

“Yeah sure sure,” she said.
