The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office and The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office are investigating the death of 51-year-old Luther Woodard Cribb III, of Ladson.
The Berkeley County Coroner, Bill Salisbury, says on Sunday, August 9, just after 2:00 a.m., Cribb was transported to Trident Hospital from the Kangaroo Gas Station on North Main Street in Summerville. Cribb died from a gunshot wound and the coroner says an autopsy will be conducted later.
Detectives used information from witnesses and video surveillance and figured out that an altercation happened in the parking lot of the Kangaroo gas station between Cribb and two other people. Both are charged with murder after they were found driving in North Charleston and two other people are being questioned by officials.
Marquez Jorome Brown of North Charleston, 32, was arrested and charged with Accessory after the fact of murder. The passenger in the vehicle, Davon Washington, 26, was arrested and charged with murder.
Another passenger in the vehicle, Ramon Gamble, 35, was arrested and is being questioned in connection with the murder. A fourth person is being sought for questioning in connection with the murder.
