April 28, 2015 -- Twelve individuals were arrested after a video surfaced of a brawl at Southern University.

The melee occurred March 31, 2015.

About 20 individuals participated, eleven have been identified as students and one as a non-student.

Southern University and A&M College is a historically black college located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The riot was reported April 27, 2015.

• A mind is a terrible thing to waste. However, some minds weren't intended to attend college.

It's also a terrible waste to allow individuals not qualified for college level studies to disrupt the learning environment of others.

In fact, it's about as dumb as allowing me to play in the NBA. My total contribution would be to get in the way of serious and talented players. If I were given equal treatment as an NBA player -- as if I had real talent -- I would be considered "privileged."

Allowing unqualified black individuals to attend college constitutes 'black privilege.'

The Southern University Police Department has arrested 12 individuals after a video of a brawl and shots being fired on campus went viral on social media, according to WBRZ. The brawl that reportedly took place late Tuesday night on March 31 involving nearly 20 people on the north end of campus. Ed Pratt, a spokesman for Southern University, told the TV station that police have identified 11 students and one non-student in the video. At first, university officials thought it was an April Fool's Day prank, but soon learned it was an actual brawl.
