DAILYKENN.com -- A Georgia high school teacher has been arrested for sexual assault against students.

News reports say Lowndes High School teacher Phoebe Jo Chapman allegedly had sexual relations with multiple male students.

Chapman resigned her position.

The arrest was reported April 21, 2015.

A Reuters reports says 800 school employees were prosecuted for sexual assault last year, about one-third of them were women.

In January 2015 there were 26 cases of female teachers accused of "inappropriate" relationships with boys. In January 2014 there were 19 such cases [source].

Other teachers arrested for sexually assaulting students in today's news include:

• Baton Rouge, Louisiana - A teacher at Christian Life Academy in Baton Rouge, 27-year-old Amber Anderson, was arrested Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of having sex with a 15-year-old student two years ago, according to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office [source].

• Fresno, Calif. - There's been another disturbing arrest of a Clovis Unified School District employee. A high school baseball coach is now facing charges for having sex with a student who is not even 16-years-old. The coach is 24-year-old Fernando Garcia, according to Clovis police. Somehow he met a very young female student while working on campus at Clovis East High School [source].
