Watch video below.
That was the opinion of the owner of Oscar's Coney Island restaurant in Detroit. Mark Deda says the violence is so prevalent, he wants to give up and move out of Detroit.
The restaurant came to the local media attention when a 50-year-old man was beaten at the establishment. The attack was captured on security video.
The problem is not unique to his business, he says. 24/7 businesses are used as hangouts for locals who buy nothing. Their presence runs off paying customers. Some people even sleep in his restaurant.
Deda says he wants the city government to do something about it. He's considering leaving the city.
• Larger establishments, such as shopping malls, are able to enforce Jim Crow rules that ban groups of teens who are unaccompanied by adults. Small businesses, like Deda's restaurant, can't afford to hire security.
The only solution is for business owners to shutter their establishments and move out of Detroit, leaving liberals to blame the blight on white privilege.
Those liberals seldom open businesses in black neighborhoods. Rather, they escape to gated white communities where they are insulated from black violence and crime.
