Fortunately a pedestrian with a video device stepped in and recorded the incident.
Granted, police do the community a service by keeping a watchful eye on persons who look suspicious. But looking suspicious is not a crime and humiliating a person for jaywalking is clearly an unnecessary extreme.
Note the cruiser blocked a portion of the street; far more dangerous than jaywalking. Note also that pedestrians were forced to walk into the street around the officers. Although the incident took place in Canada, it remains that authorities use more force on citizens who cross the street than illegal aliens crossing the border.
