DNA records, phone records, and eye witnesses are among the body of evidence that landed Kelvin Lee Coleman, Jr. in jail and on trial for the murder of two white people.

Coleman's public defender, however, continues to put up a fight in the case.
Coleman was arrested on March 13, 2013, the day after he was accused of fatally shooting Lester Carter, 42, and Glendora Johnson, 54, at the Vacation Host Inn located off South Pine Avenue in Ocala.
The alleged killer says he didn't do it and was not at the scene of the crime when it occurred and that he is not a monster.

In fact, Coleman and his family had been living at the inn. Coleman was reportedly angry because the staff had asked him to control his disruptive children.

It happened at the Vacation Host Inn on South Pine Avenue in Ocala...

Many employees and motel guests said they believe the shooting could have all been prevented, if Kelvin Lee Coleman was arrested the first time deputies were called to the Inn; just hours before the shooting.

"It's terrible," said Leonard Martin.

On Tuesday night, deputies swarmed the Vacation Host Inn after two people were shot.

Martin was there.

"I heard the gun shots and after that I went out and it was just chaos around here," said Martin.

Deputies said 37- year -old Kelvin Lee Coleman walked up to the second floor and then shot and killed two employees Forty two-year -old Lester Carter who worked at the Inn for the past two years and 54 -year -old Glendora Betty Johnson, who's been there since 2004.

"He was just a good old southern boy. Polite. Always helping everybody with their car. Do anything for you. She didn't bother nobody. Quiet. She's been working here for six years and everybody likes her," said Martin.

Coleman and his family have been staying at the Inn since January.

The front desk receptionist Rickesha Hawkins said the Colemans were angry because an employee told their children not to ride their bicycle near the windows.

Soon after Coleman and his wife Penny barged into the lobby and started yelling and threatening her.

Hawkins called 911, deputies arrived, but no one was arrested.

"They assessed the situation in their professional standards and they were able to come to the conclusion there simply wasn't enough evidence to put anyone in handcuffs," said Judge Cochran who is the Public Information Officer with the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

Nearly four hours later two people were dead.

Motel guests said after the shooting, Coleman walked away like nothing happened.

Deputies found Colemans' black nissan in front of a home in Silver Springs Shores, which is only about eight miles from where the shooting happened.

Coleman came out of the house and surrendered, and first appeared in court Wednesday morning.

"So your charged with two counts of first degree murder. Charged with one count of possession of firearm by a convicted felon and one account of attempted first degree murder," said Judge Thomas P. Thompson III.

Penny Coleman is still staying at the Inn.

I tried speaking to her, but she didn't want to talk.

"I just said don't come knocking on this door no more," yelled Penny.

In 1998 Coleman was convicted of attempted first degree murder.

He has already served more than 10 years in prison and is now being held without bond in the Marion County Jail.  Source ►

From our news source we read:
The defense asked for the state to turn over phone records and DNA information that are part of the state’s documents in the case, known as discovery.

Coleman was arrested on March 13, 2013, the day after he was accused of fatally shooting Lester Carter, 42, and Glendora Johnson, 54, at the Vacation Host Inn located off South Pine Avenue in Ocala.

Coleman has pleaded not guilty in the case and told the Star-Banner in January that he was not at the inn on the night of the murder.

Several witnesses have identified Coleman as the shooter.

Authorities found an unspent .40-caliber bullet near the scene.

Coleman was arrested at his mother’s home in the Silver Springs Shores area, where officials found a Beretta semi-automatic handgun, magazine and six live .40-caliber bullets.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement analyzed a swab taken from the handgun and determined it matched the DNA profile of Carter.

In her motion, Assistant Public Defender Tricia Jenkins pointed out potential problems with the results and cases where individuals have been exonerated due to DNA evidence.

“We need to get it right,” Jenkins told Hodges, urging him to compel the state to provide her with more materials as soon as possible.

“We need to get our expert on it quickly, your honor,” Jenkins said.

  1. If that NEGRO was EXECUTED the FIRST time he "attempted" murder, two CIVILIZED White people would still be alive. Bet the animals ( the NEGRO wife and chimps ) are collecting WELFARE.

  2. Most likely the sub-human simian beast was living in the motel with the state paying his bill (at an outrageous rate). They should just back a wood chipper up to the courthouse and throw him in feet first, and force his worthless hell spawn to watch.

  3. Jiggs spread filth and destruction wherever they infest.

The world needs to be sanitized from them...

  4. The festering wound of negro on the body of America has now become gangrene. No cure for it, only cutting it off. Cutting them off starts with disregarding their presence and nignoring them, warily, and being ready for their typical chimpery. Be prepared for their violent tactics. Ready to repel TNB. Be aware and be prepared.
