A Grand Island High School student sat alone in suspension 'jail' Monday for touting an amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

At issue was a t-shirt being worn by Shane Kinney, 16. The shirt was printed with the words, "2nd amendment shall not be infringed" along with "National Rifle Association" and images that included firearms.

The principal ordered Kinney to either turn his shirt inside-out or cover the offending image with duct tape.

The school cited its dress code that forbids anything that could incite violence.
