Michael Taylor and Roderick Nunley took the 15-year-old to the basement in Nunley's mother's home where she was raped, then stabbed to death. The young white girl's body was stuffed in the trunk of a stolen car. She had been stabbed ten times.
The Missouri Supreme Court set February 26, 2014 as the date for Taylor's execution for the murder he committed in 1989.
The date for Nunley's execution has not be set. He had been scheduled to die in September 1996, February 2006, then again on October 20, 2010.
Taylor will turn 47 January 30.
In 2006, Nunley was accused of brutally attacking a manager at the Potosi Correctional Center, where he was being held. Officials said Nunley stabbed the man in the head, collarbone and back with a 4- or 5-inch metal shard fashioned into a crude weapon. The manager survived his injures. [source]
