In an effort to crack down on crime in Emmanuel Rahm's Chicago, a 55-year-old white woman was charged for carrying an unloaded gun.
The woman, Kathleen Loviscek, was held on $25,000 bond after she showed up for work at the University of Illinois with the gun in tow. Loviscek didn't use the gun. She didn't even brandish it.
A fellow employee happened to see the gun and called the cops.
It turns out the gun was recently purchased and the Loviscek was properly licensed. She did not, however, get written permission from college security to carry the gun.
In addition to facing charges, Loviscek was placed on administrative leave.
