I'm trying to think of the last time I heard of three Mormon thugs beating and stomping the head of a defenseless black kid while he awaited an elevator. Such a beating took place this week, only the victim was a 14-year-old white kid and the three bullies were black.
Mormon thugs beat helpless
black kid at elevator
this week.

Apparently Chris Rock is aware of many such incidents involving Mormons. The race-obsessed comic who has made millions by entertaining mostly white crowds has nasty words for Mormons: They are racists.

Some are pleased that -- finally -- a black dude is revealing the horrid past of those god-awful Mormons. Others wonder why Rock never noticed racism among the Mormons until one of them ran for president as a Republican.

Rock vented his hate for Mormons on Jimmy Fallon's show earlier this week. (Yes, that's the same Jimmy Fallon who band played Lyin' A-- B---- when Michelle Bachmann walked on his show. That, of course, was before the Democrats noticed there was a War on Women.)

So what have Mormons done that has so enraged Chris Rock?

Was it the Mormon thug who beat a black WWII veteran?

Nope. That was a black guy named Curt Hill. The 81-year-old white victim died after suffering from his wounds for three years. Chris Rock must have missed that one.

Maybe it was Mormon woman named Letisha who killed her new black neighbor.

Nope. That was a black woman who stabbed 52-year-old Howard Allen 37 times. Allen, a white man, moved into his home about a month before Letisha's welcome wagon came calling.

Could it be the black Marine who was murdered by white-shirted thugs on bikes?

Wrong again. 23-year-old Marine Corps sergeant Ryan Lekosky was white. Two black folks, Melvin and Heliana, were arrested after the white Marine was stabbed to death after Melvin and Heliana allegedly trashed talked Lekosky's new wife. The Marine and his bride had just left a Marine's Ball in New Orleans.

Is Chris bent out of shape over two Mormons who gunned down a black shop employee?

Missed again. Cedric and Alex are black and, far as we know, were never Mormons. They were charged will killing a white worker at a Fayetteville pawn shop. The murdered white man was 19-year-old Kyle Harris.

So, I'm at a loss.

I can't recall what hate crimes Mormons have committed against blacks to prompt the hateful diatribe from Chris Rock. Surely those crimes must have been worse than any black-on-white violence.

• Mormon history

Everyone "knows" those tidbits about Mormon history:

They couldn't do math when it came to matrimony.
Indians descended from Abraham.
Negros were non-human. (See below.)

The point is: Chris Rock is reaching far into the PAST to make a case against Romney while ignoring the CURRENT black-on-white violence that is infinitely more 'racist' than PAST Mormon doctrine.

• Black complicity and Rock ignorance

While he reaches far into the past to make a case against Mormons, he misses black history that is far more complicit in racism that 'misguided' Mormon attitudes. He also misses Mormon history.

  1. Wow. The racism and worldly blindness of this screed is staggering.

Mitt Romney was a fully grown man and a high serving member of his church during a time it was openly racist. I wish someone had the courage to ask him why he was willing to be a leader in such a racket.

As for your cherry picked anecdotes regarding the history of slavery, do you really want to start cherry picking stories from the south to make your case? How many pictures of lynchings will you need to see? And we need not go nearly as far back. You're aware of Jim Crow, are you not?

Do you really want to compare the history of black on white violence to the reverse? Are you prepared to make yourself look so publicly foolish?

    1. There were 4,743 victims of lynching between 1882 and 1968. Of those 1,297 were white and 3,446 were black.

Lynchings occurred in 44 states. There were more whites than blacks lynched in 25 of those 44 states.

The Department of Justice informs us that each year there are an estimated 8,000 to 9,000 black-on-black homicides. Using 8,500 as a mean, there are as many black-on-black homicides every five months as there were blacks killed during the 86-year lynching era

    2. How many of those total lynchings were carried out by blacks? And do you know why many white people were lynched? For supporting equal rights for blacks, of course. Or for being anti-lynching. Or for being perceived as homosexual.

So I'm not sure what your point is.

Anyways, go on and keep believing Jim Crow was in place to protect white people. I'm so happy I don't have to go through life being so paranoid of an imagined history...

  2. Are you talking about the history of racism in America, or are you talking about violent crime in America today? They are two separate issues, you know. (The last is lowest in decades under our first black president, by the way.)

At any rate, you're being silly. Do you really think that murder committed during the course of a random crime is equal to a mob hanging a man for being black or for his beliefs? Really? You might have a point if the members of said mob were put in prison for their crime, like the people you list above. But that's one key difference here: they were not. Do I need to make this more clear to you?

So ok, crime exists. Why don't we list the number of white people who killed other white people, latinos who killed black people, black people who killed black people, white people who killed black, and so on. So far, the only thing your list demonstrates is that some black people kill other people. I'm getting through a lot of this site right now. I've already concluded you're a racist, but now I'm pretty sure you're a fool as well.

      Can you qualify these contention?

      Of course you can't.

    3. If you think these crimes were random rather than race-related (Gee, I'm bored. Maybe I'll go stomp on somebody's head. Here's a white kid -- he'll do.), you're not serious enough to be in the debate.

  3. So, you agree that random acts of violent individuals of any race who are judged and disciplined for their crimes is completely different than a mob who kills a person because of their race yet receives no discipline?

    2. I don't need to because it's not a contention. That would be a fact. Race motivated lynchings. Do you disagree? I dare you to.

      Delete
    3. So you admit you can't qualify your contention.

  4. I'll admit I have no idea what you're talking about. Saying that lynchings in the US were racially motivated is not a contention. It is what they were. Do I need to be more clear? What in the vast, vast world of corroborating text on the subject do you want? And why in the world would you like to believe otherwise? What do you gain from it?

Again, I challenge you, who so breezily equates any violent act to a the brand of lynching we're discussing, to disagree. I dare say you haven't the stones.

    1. Saying that the beat-downs currently going on are race-related is not a contention. It's what they are.

There is so much to be angry about today....beat-downs, the country dying, slavery in Arabia and Africa, savagry in somalia...that I can't imagine someone ticked off over 150 years ago and blase' about crimes today.

    2. In Philadelphia over the last 10 years there have been more blacks killed by blacks than all the lynchings in the history of the USA. In fact there have been more murders commited by blacks in Philadelphia than all the soldiers killed in Iraq in the same time period. As far as the Mormons you have to ask Gladys Knight she is a Mormon

  5. No one can do anything about the 19th century. But we can and should be fighting against racism today, which is proven by the "polar-bear hunting" and "knock-out king" games, aong with "beat Whitey nights." To have this going on this minute, as we speak and shrugging it off is calous.

  6. For Anon from post 1. So a man should give up his religion and faith if he disagrees with something done said church/religion.

So JFK should have stopped being Catholic when many of the populous was worried of a "Papist" president. Some historians do believe he was not really strong believer. Plus besides the Catholic Church was not so pure. Would have been better.

What about Obama, when he a was a State Senator and later a US Senator he was member of Church with a very opinionated Pastor. I would suspect he would love his country (the US) and maybe he should have dissociated SOONER from a church with such a negative outlook about the country he is serving. Why did he not quit much sooner and not later when when it was a poltical hot potato on the Presidential election trail. Actually I hold President Obama to a lower standard since he cut and ran from his "Church". Rather then being a man and sleeping in the bed he made.

What about Vice President Biden. Maybe he too should stop being a Roman Catholic. He has had some conflicts with the Catholic Church over his beliefs like abortion. Maybe he should quit because it is a conflict.

What about Harry Reid, he should have quit his religion too - Mormonism, years ago if he stood for the ideals of the Democratic Party. At time his religion and political beliefs conflict. Yet I commend the man for standing by his religion and his political beliefs.

Plus your are forgetting one thing, Romney held lay positions in the Church. I am pretty certain he did not hold any significant positions like the Quorum of the Twelve or in the First Presidency. So he chance to change doctrine or effect policy was probably pretty minor. Still "I" do not know what he did during that time. Maybe he did express his opinion?

But Thank You Anon post number one for holding Romney to a higher standard then the current president who was a quitter.

A side note I grew up Mormon and am not very active. I grew up after blacks where allowed the priesthood. But I was always impressed with the way my church treated people of many different races. I am even amazed of how the Church treats it worldwide members NOW. Yes the past mistakes where wrong, but it got better and grew. Do not forget the past, but do not let is overshadow the present.

That is illogical to harp on stuff from the past. To find something bad and make someone who has little or nothing to do with it all at fault. I do not fault Obama for having a polygamist father, nor Romney for having a polygamist grandfather. Hmm would not Obama have a closer connection to polygamy? To me it means shit all.

Sincerely an inactive white Mormon who ancestors never owned slaves or where polygamists.

  7. Here is a question?

How can a religion be racist if they are willing to send missionaries to other countries. Have said ambassador/missionaries learn and use the local language. Integrate a bit into the culture.

Build Churches and provide relief. Now baptize, bless, help, preach, and so on.

If the Mormon church was racist, they would have kept in it Utah. Built a cultural level of isolation and rejected any and all change.

Wow sounds really racist. Look at all those Mission (missionary work regions). Africa is the first with 21 Missions serving 12 countries in Africa.

  8. All this is getting us nowhere, in the end, one of us is going to totally wipe the other fro the face of the U.S. because it is totally impossible to live with one another because the blacks simply WILL NOT conduct themselves in any sort of civilized manner and poverty has NOThING to DO WITH IT. The problem is simply that blacks have no sense of right and wrong to speak of thought there are the rare exceptions and those few are called vile names and looked down upon by the "authentically" black criminals

    ReplyDelete
  9. Or perhaps the real problem is that a certain group of people would actually consider enough to even discuss "wiping "another off the map because of their hate of a group of people who worked free for over 400 years and never received anything except empty promises not not even a simple thanks. Instead, they are considered lazy and never given an excuse for not being financially sound as the descendants of the people they worked for for hundreds of years. Never a sensible conversation. only more work and threats. I am one of the exceptions but after spending time online and viewing the thoughts and viewpoints of my coworkers and fellow citizens I can learn to appreciate the vile names the "authentically" black criminals may call me. Black sis and bros I love you and I understand. I have been a minister all my life but I respect and admire any black guy that has the gall to give any of these hateful, backwards, mean, arrogant, proud people any sort of difficulty. Where is a real Malcom X when you need him.

  10. Mormons preach tolerance & all that but deep down inside many of them are still closeted racists. They did not allow blacks to be priests until 1978. Good grief. At Mitt Romney's university, there were protests to support black equality, but Romney avoided them. In other words, he was complicit in his church's persecution of African Americans.
