DAILYKENN.com -- A 47-year-old white woman died after her face was smashed into concrete by a black intruder.
The attack was reminiscent of Trayvon Martin who pounded the head of George Zimmerman into concrete. Zimmerman pulled the trigger, killing his "own murderer."
Kimberly Rhoades was apparently unarmed when a black male broke into her home and attacked her.
Kevin D. Johnson, 47, a repeat criminal, was arrested.
A Syracuse man who has already spent three stints in prison is accused of violently targeting a 47-year-old woman by smashing her head and face onto a concrete floor, according to court records.
The attack in the woman's home, which also included repeated punches to her face, ultimately led to Kimberly Rhoades' death a day after the Friday assault, police said. When police arrived at the scene on Eureka Street around 1 a.m. Friday, Rhoades was bleeding from her head and complained of pain to her ribs and abdomen area, police said.
But the mother of three later lost consciousness and the criminal complaint said the attack caused "severe bleeding on the brain."
A repeat criminal, Kevin D. Johnson, 47, of 611 Ash St., turned himself in to police Monday, Police Chief Frank Fowler said Monday night. Johnson was charged with first-degree manslaughter -- intending to cause serious physical injury and causing death -- as well as first-degree burglary.
