Why Racism is Wrong | Fatal Flaws of White Nationalism | Why White Supremacy is Wrong | Why Antisemitism Is Dumb

DAILYKENN.com -- 454 were arrested at this year's Notting Hill Carnival. Among the offenses were stabbings, sexual assaults, and beatings.

Welcome to merry old England. Make that merry new England.

Ken Marsh, the Chairman of the Metropolitan Police Federation, complained that officers were used as "professional punching bags." 45 officers were injured. The total number assaulted was not reported.

British talk show presenter Katy Hopkins weighed in. She noted that no other massive events had compatible statistics.

“We’ve been looking at other events, like the football, like Chinese New Year, like an event for Scottish people. We’ve tried to find comparable statistics and we can’t,” she said.

Factmag.com said arrest hit a record high at the 2016 event.

Black Lives Matter reportedly complained that blacks were unfairly targeted by police.

6,000 police officers were required to keep the peace at the carnival on Sunday. 7,000 were needed on Monday.

The carnival began in 1966. This year's event took place August 28 and 29.
