DAILYKENN.com -- The black male suspected of fatally shooting an elderly woman in Huntsville, Alabama has been taken into custody.
Warren Hardy was wanted for the murder of 72-year-old Kathleen Lundy.
The victim was reportedly shot at a neighborhood pool party during a domestic violence situation involving Hardy and his girlfriend.
The weekly gather was conducted for residents of a gated community in Huntsville, Alabama. Apparently the gate was in disrepair.
Police said it started as a domestic violence situation between Hardy and his girlfriend. Police said the two were in the Morland Shores neighborhood. The reason they were there is not clear at this time.
Police say his girlfriend left and Hardy shot the victim at some point after that. They believe he stole her vehicle to try to pursue the girlfriend.
One neighbor said she's never seen anything like this here in her quiet neighborhood.
"Well, its the only gated neighborhood in the community. It's very calm, uh peaceful, so it's different to see that," said Megan Hostetler.
An investigation is ongoing at this time as police search for answers on how the suspect got into the gated community, but some neighbors say the gate is broken. WAFF reached out to the homeowners association for a comment and is waiting to hear back.
