DAILYKENN.com -- 33-year-old Melinda McCormick was beaten to death during a home invasion. Her apartment was set afire.
Kiesha Pugh was sentenced to 30 years in prison for her part in the crimes. There were two accomplices, both black males.
Pugh is black. McCormick was white.
Mental disability was a defense for all three convicts.
According to pnj.com:
Pugh's IQ is in the mid-to-low 50s and a physician said she did not possess the "critical thinking" abilities of a typical adult.Noting that blacks tend have lower intellects than other races is normally considered an affront to civility; white supremacy when compared to whites.
However, the intellectual incapacity of blacks is commonly used as a defense in murder trials.
According to a 2013 report by DailyKenn.com:
A hammer, crow bar and a lead pipe were used to beat Melinda. The suspects then set her sheets ablaze in a foolish effort to destroy her body. The hammer was left behind. The confessed killers told authorities that Melinda begged for them to stop beating her.
The crime occurred in Pensacola, Florida in March, 2013.
