DAILYKENN.com -- A black American brutally raped and murdered a young Japanese woman earlier this year, authorities say. That crime prompted tens of thousands of Japanese to rally, demanding the U.S. military leave Okinawa, Japan.
An estimated 65,000 Japanese attended the rally.
AP identified the alleged killer as a former marine and U.S. contractor, but failed to mention his name or the fact that he was black.
Earlier reports from other sources identified the alleged rapist-murderer as Kenneth Franklin Shinzato, 32.
He was arrested by police on suspicion of abandoning the body of Rina Shimabukuro, a 20-year-old office worker, who disappeared last month.
One source reported the suspect assumed the surname of his Japanese wife.
The rally occurred Sunday, June 19, 2016.

• The national media had no qualms in identifying the race of the police officer who shot and killed Michael Brown in self defense in 2014. The media tends to follow the narrative that blacks must always be victims of white oppression. When a crime doesn't follow that pattern, the media often lie by omission.
• Imagine if 65,000 white Americans demanded Afghan insurgents leave the United States after 49 citizens were massacred in Florida by the son of an Afghan "refugee."
