DAILYKENN.com -- Christianity has traditionally viewed homosexuality as sin.
However, Christian universities that refuse to permit open expressions of sinful gender identity, gender expression or sexual orientation — that is, open displays of homosexual behavior — may soon be violating California law.
Legislation authored by Senator Ricardo Lara would close the"loophole."
“All students deserve to feel safe in institutions of higher education, regardless of whether they are public or private," he said. "Private universities should not be able to use faith as an excuse to discriminate and avoid complying with state laws.”
In proposing the law that discriminates against Christian schools, Lara added, “No university should have a license to discriminate.”
There was no mention of Muslim schools being forced to comply with the proposed law.
