DAILYKENN.com -- A parent in Jackson, Miss. showed up at a schoolyard fight with a gun. 

A brief glimpse of the weapon was captured by a video device while recording the fight. 

School officials said the mother toting the gun was not involved in the fight. 

The proliferation of video devices is allowing Americans to see beyond their suburban isolation into the reality of violence that plagues black-majority neighborhoods and schools everyday. 

Still, the Internet and local news venues seem heavily censored as if to hide the coarse reality of urban violence from the minds of the public. 

The violence in this news story underscores the real reason government schools were segregated in the South: To protect white students for perennial black violence.
