Police found the victim and his wife bound in their home. The man was shot twice in the head and once in the chest. His wife was shot in the head but survived the attack.
The couple's two vehicles were missing.

A Free State farmer was shot dead and his wife wounded when they were attacked on their farm near Rouxville, police said on Friday.
A worker found them on Friday morning at 09:30 and called the police, spokesperson Sergeant Yanga Ngcukana said.
“On arrival we found the husband dead and the wife in a serious condition. The husband was shot twice in the head and also sustained a serious bullet wound to the chest. The wife was shot in the head,” he said.
The couple’s hands and legs had been bound with a rope. Their vehicle was missing.
The wife was rushed to hospital. Cases of murder, attempted murder, and theft were opened.
No arrests had been made. — News24
