DAILYKENN.com -- In 1987 when outspoken anti-racist Bernie Sanders was mayor of Burlington, Vermont (89.9% white; 3.8% black), he recorded an album titled "We Shall Overcome."
Sanders, who is apparently tone deaf, actually spoke his parts rather than sing.
He was accompanied by a chorus of 29 white Vermont singers and one token negro.
Vermont is 95.5% white and 1.2% black. It is the ideal place for privileged-white-liberals-in-denial to vent their delusions about racism without being exposed to violent black neighborhoods.
