DAILYKENN.com -- Lorenzo D. Washington, 29, has been charged with the shooting death of a 52-year-old man.
Thomas E. Kuzila was found shot to death in an alley. His pick-up truck had been stolen.
52.2 percent of homicide in the nation were committed by blacks, nearly all by black male who comprise about four percent of the population.
A Kansas City man has been charged with murder in the Jan. 30 shooting death of Thomas E. Kuzila Jr., Jackson County prosecutors said Saturday.
Lorenzo D. Washington, 29, faces one count of first-degree murder and one count of armed criminal action.
Kuzila, 52, was found shot to death early in the morning in an alley in the 100 block of Brooklyn Avenue, according to police. Investigators believed his pickup truck was stolen after the shooting.
Kuzila was a journeyman with Pipefitters Local 533.
Washington has spent time in Missouri prisons for theft. He was in the custody of Kansas City police Saturday.
