DAILYKENN.com -- 55-year-old Charlotte van Zyl was beaten to death on the farm she shared with her elderly husband.
Reports say a black Swazi national attacked Charlotte and 84-year-old Johannes van Zyl. The attacker was an employee at the couple's farm in Dirkiesdorp near Piet Retief.
The elder va Zyl also died from his injuries. He was beaten to death with a crutch.
When police arrived on the scene, they found the elderly man lying in the bathroom.
He had sustained serious injuries all over his body and died on the scene. The 35-year-old was arrested on Saturday and was expected to appear in the Piet Retief Magistrate's Court on Tuesday on charges of murder. — news24.comThousands of white farmers have been murdered since the Mandelan government assumed control of the once-prosperous nation in 1994.
