DAILYKENN.com -- Thirty-three-year-old Shavelle Oscar Chavez-Nelson pleaded guilty to murdering Anarae Schunk in 2013. Schnuk was 20-years-old.
The killer will be sentenced to 204 months in prison minus time served.
The night after Anarae Schunk went missing last September, prosecutors say, Ashley Conrade helped boyfriend Shavelle Oscar Chavez-Nelson lift a heavy plastic bin covered in a blanket into the trunk of her car. Conrade told police that although she didn't look inside, she was almost certain of its contents. Schunk, a 20-year-old University of Minnesota student, was found dead eight days later on the side of the road in rural Rice County. She had been stabbed nearly two dozen times and stripped naked, according to court documents. In Conrade's home, police said, they found Schunk's blood on the kitchen floor, on a hacksaw and on a plastic tote. Elsewhere, they found a knife and bloody clothes matching the ones she was last seen wearing, court documents said. — twincities.comThe crime occurred in Minnesota.
