An arrest has been made in a New Albany murder that occurred in the Waffle House parking lot, 325 W. Spring St., around 3 a.m. Saturday morning.
Marcus T. Threatt Jr., 22, Jeffersonville, was charged with murder and dealing in marijuana. His initial hearing was held this afternoon in Floyd County Superior Court No. 1 where a not-guilty plea was entered on his behalf. When Judge Richard Striegel asked Threatt if he had an attorney, he said he didn't, but "I think my family will have one for me." No bond was set.
Threatt is accused of shooting and killing 24-year-old Charles E. Fischbach IV, 24, Lanesville, in what officials called a drug transaction and robbery.
More arrests will likely be coming, according to Floyd County Prosecutor Keith Henderson.
"There are other suspects police are looking at," Henderson said. "Three other suspects may have been involved in some way."
