Wyoming.

There are 114,052 registered firearms in a state with a population of 582,658 people. Yet in 2014 Wyoming had only 2.7 murders per 100,000 residents.

The state with the lowest rate of homicides was New Hampshire with 0.9 murders per 100,000.

The ten states with the lowest homicide rates are:
