DAILYKENN.com -- A 42-year-old woman was found dead in a Sacramento, Calif. motel room earlier this week.

April Fowler was apparently beaten to death.

Arrested for the crime is 52-year-old Fredrick Tatum.

A man is accused of physically assaulting a woman -- who died of her injuries -- earlier this week inside a Sacramento hotel room.

Officers with the Sacramento Police Department arrested 52-year-old Fredrick Tatum in the death of April Fowler at the Quality Inn, according to a news release. Tatum will face a murder charge.

Just after 12:35 p.m. Wednesday, police learned of a possible body found in the third-floor room of a hotel in the 3700 block of Northgate Boulevard.

Officers, with help from the Sacramento Fire Department, pronounced Fowler dead at the scene.

She was 42 years old.
