Markee L. Cathcart, 19, has been charged with manslaughter in the fatal stabbing of 23-year-old Sean D. Leonard early this morning in the town of Hannibal.

Cathcart and Leonard arrived at the party at 99 Kellogg Road in the same vehicle, Oswego County District Attorney Gregory Oakes and State Police Trooper Jack Keller said at a press conference this afternoon.

Leonard and Cathcart got into an argument at some point outside the home, which turned physical. Police were called to the scene at 2:28 a.m., where Troopers found Leonard with at least one stab wound to the torso. No other partygoers were injured.

Leonard was rushed to Oswego Hospital by Menter ambulance, where he was later pronounced dead. The Onondaga County Medical Examiner's office will perform an autopsy.

Dressed in a white plastic body suit, Cathcart was led from the state police barracks in Fulton to Oswego Hospital for a DNA test before being arraigned in Hannibal Town Court. Cathcart was wearing the body suit because clothing was taken by police as evidence, Keller said.
