The union notification comes ten days after thousands of police officers demonstrated in France, protesting "a lack of resources, rising violence, and an ineffective justice system."
The announcement comes from L’UNSA, the nation's largest police union representing about 41 percent of all police officers in France.
It was posted on the union's website Oct. 23, 2015.
The union complained that police are not equipped to patrol the Islamic area of Calais.
Calais is located on the northern shore of France near The Channel that links mainland Europe with the United Kingdom. It is the preferred landing point for Islamic insurgents seeking to cross illegally into Britain.
