The prominent politician was effectively censored by her party for declaring her nation is a "white race" country.
"We are a Judeo-Christian country - General de Gaulle said it - of white race, which welcomes foreigners," she said.
Morano was a candidate with the Les Républicains, the mainstream right-of-center party.
Former president Nicolas Sarkozy is a member of Les Républicains and was instrumental in initiating Morano's withdrawal.
Morano, in return, promised to "knock out" Sarkozy, should he seek to run again for president in 2017.
Morano raised rancor among the predatory left in 2009 when she openly condemned gay pride parades as "exhibitionist festivals" filled with "guys in garter belts".
She also praised Marine Le Pen as having "a lot of talent".
Her pronouncement that France is a "christian country, of white race" was made on national television. The program is called "On n’est pas couché" (We Are Not Lying) and was aired on France 2 Saturday night.
Specifically she said,
Which is roughly translated,
For there to be a national cohesion, keep a balance in the country, that is to say, its cultural majority. We are a Judeo- Christian country - General de Gaulle put it - Caucasian, home to strangers. I feel that France remains France. I do not want France to become Muslim.
