Anthony Talley, 27, is in critical condition after his alleged attempt at armed robbery was rejected by a citizen armed with a handgun and Second Amendment right to use it.
Reports say Talley entered a home on Indianapolis east side where a couple operated their rental business. When the intruder pulled a gun on the woman, her 75-year-old husband produced a gun of his own and pulled the trigger.
One news reports said multiple shot were fired.

A suspect is in critical condition after being shot by a homeowner during an attempted robbery on the east side of Indianapolis Monday.
Officers responded to the 700 block of N. Bosart Avenue after receiving a call about a person shot just before 5 p.m.
When officers arrived to the scene, it was discovered the homeowner had shot a suspect during an attempted robbery, said police.
The suspect was transported to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.
