Oregon Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian effectively ordered Aaron and Melissa Klein to pay $135,000 in emotional damages to a same-sex couple after the Christian bakers refused to bake a cake containing language that defied the Klein's religious beliefs.
• The predatory left is not concerned that the Kleins were offended by the inscription ordered on the cake, but belabor the thought that the Confederate flag is offensive.
• We wonder if $135,000 in emotional damages could be awarded to Americans accused of racism.
• Some observers believe the militant gay hate movement will target Christian pastors and churches that refuse to perform wedding ceremonies for homosexual couples.
• To our knowledge there has been no effort made by the militant gay hate movement to target Muslim bakers or demand that imams perform gay weddings.
The assault seems to target traditional American institution with the intent of destroying them. Islam is not considered a traditional American institution, but its proliferation is viewed as an effort to undermine traditional American culture.

“This case is not about a wedding cake or a marriage,” Avakian wrote. “It is about a business’s refusal to serve someone because of their sexual orientation. Under Oregon law, that is illegal.”
In the ruling, Avakian placed an effective gag order on the Kleins, ordering them to “cease and desist” from speaking publicly about not wanting to bake cakes for same-sex weddings based on their Christian beliefs.
“This effectively strips us of all our First Amendment rights,” the Kleins, owners of Sweet Cakes by Melissa, which has since closed, wrote on their Facebook page. “According to the state of Oregon we neither have freedom of religion or freedom of speech.”
