DAILYKENN.com -- Authorities say 25-year-old Kieron Alexander beat a man to death, then attempted to burn his body.

Dead is 54-year-old Ricky Griffin.

Apparently the attack occurred in Griffen's Dallas, Texas apartment.

The crime was reported June 23, 2015.

Dallas police arrested a murder suspect who they say beat a man to death Monday and tried to set him on fire in his far northeast Dallas apartment.

Officers arrived at the apartment in the 9700 block of Forest Lane around 6 p.m. and found 54-year-old Ricky Griffin dead on the living room floor. He appeared to have suffered blunt force trauma to the head.

A witness, who lives in the apartment and was not identified, told detectives that Griffin had come to visit her earlier in the day. She left him and the suspect, 25-year-old Kieron Alexander, alone for about an hour, police records show.

When she came home, she found Griffin beaten to death and a small fire burning next to him. Alexander fled the scene, police said.

Records show that while detectives gathered evidence at the scene, Alexander attempted to re-enter the apartment. He was arrested and taken in for questioning.

  1. Re-entering the apartment, after committing a murder, with the police onsite gathering evidence? There is something to The Bell Curve after all.
