DAILYKENN.com -- A 24-year-old man was found murdered in Fargo, North Dakota this week.

News reports say Samuel Traut, a Bible study leader, was discovered by authorities who were alerted by a smoke detector. He apparently died after being beaten in the head with a hammer multiple times.

Arrested for the crime is Ashley Kenneth Hunter, 35.

Authorities believe Hunter also killed 45-year-old Clarence Lewon Flowers.

Ashley Kenneth Hunter, 35, was arrested at about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday after two men were found dead in separate apartment buildings -- one Monday afternoon, the other early Tuesday morning.

The first victim was found Monday at about 2:40 p.m. at 319 12th Ave. N. Police say the man was 45-year-old Clarence Lewon Flowers of Fargo.

The second victim was found at 12:29 a.m. Tuesday at 1122 12th St. N. after firefighters responding to a report of a fire found the body of a 24-year-old man, who police identified Wednesday morning as Samuel Traut, a Bible study leader.

Traut's body was found after a neighbor heard what he thought was an audible smoke alarm, said Interim Police Chief Dave Todd.

Todd said Flowers was killed with an edged weapon and died from multiple stab wounds.

Todd said Traut died from blunt force trauma, likely a hammer.
