Frank Taaffe told DailyKenn.com tonight that he was made aware of the verdict in George Zimmerman trial more than six hours before it was handed down by the jury.
Zimmerman was charged with second-degree murder for the 2012 death of Trayvon Martin. He was acquitted July 13, 2013.
"A lawyer with ties to the Seminole County Sheriff's Office told it to me at 4 p.m.," he said. The verdict was handed down after 10 p.m.
Taaffe was a close personal friend and outspoken defender of Zimmerman throughout the trial.
"The F.B.I. is very interested," Taaffe concluded.
