The prosecutor in the case, Mark Piepmeier, described Flucas as cowardly after Winkler sentenced him to 20 years in prison.
“He only picks on elderly people," Piepmeier said. "Just to see that he’s got this poor old man that he practically beat to death. When he realizes he can’t beat that charge, he takes a step of trying to hire someone to kill him. It’s just scary that people like this are out there.”He took his victim's money, reports say. When asked by passersby what caused the noise, he informed them someone was having "bowel issues."
Then, in an effort to cover up the attack, Flucas is accused for attempting to have his victim murdered.
Flucas was sentenced to 20 years for his crime.
The attack took place at Cincinnati State University September 5, 2013 where Flucas was a student. He was 21 years old at the time. He was sentenced on March 26, 2014.
