MUST READ ► My Horrific Experience With A Psychopath

A 48-year-old black woman provided her Trayvon-like son with a 9-mm handgun.

Dena Plunkett said her underaged son needed the weapon to protect himself against members of rival gangs.

Cops encountered her son during a traffic stop when they discovered the gun with one chambered round. He was also wearing a red bandana in his waistline representing the Bloods street gang.

News reports quoted Plunkett as saying her son is not currently enrolled in school, but stopped short of relating how he occupied his time.

The woman requested her gun be returned, but the police declined.

The woman apparently lives in The Village, an inner-city section of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

OKC Mom Accused Of Giving Gun To Underage, Gang Member Son

By Lacie Lowry / News 9

THE VILLAGE, Oklahoma - A metro mom is accused of giving a gun to her underage son to protect himself.
The Village Police Department said Dena Plunkett's son is a gang member and when they questioned her about the weapon, she admitted to arming him.

Plunkett faces a charge of giving a minor a weapon and The Village Police said the weapon was a loaded 9 mm handgun.

Officers pulled over Plunkett's son in October. According to court documents, police found marijuana, a loaded 9 mm with a round in the chamber and Plunkett's son wearing a red bandana in his waistline for the Bloods gang.

When Plunkett went to pick her son up, officers said she admitted "matter-of-factly" that she gave her son the gun for protection.

Documents stated Plunkett said, "he is always allowed to carry it," especially when she lets him stay out late.

The report stated the 48-year-old mother admitted she knew it was illegal and that her son "needed protection from rival gangs."

Police also said Plunkett's son was out past curfew and he is not currently attending high school. Plunkett reportedly insisted officers give the gun back to her, but they did not return it because they said the gun most definitely would end up back in her son's hands.

News 9 reached out to Plunkett on the misdemeanor charges, but she did not respond. Plunkett has not yet been booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on the charge.

  1. So instead of trying to educate him and persuade him from being in a gang, she supports his thug life.
