Obama's condescending comments to the audience causes one to wonder if, in fact, the President of the United States of America is an absolute moron. After all, Obama refuses to disclose his college manuscripts. (Nor did President Reagan. Then, again, Reagan never pretended to be an intellectual.)
At issue is a particular line spoken by Obama. After noting that Thomas Jefferson hosted a group from Tunisia, Obama stated that Islam "is part of our national story."
Indeed it is.
Even as he spoke, American's military was engaged in conflict with Muslim extremists. Coalition deaths in Afghanistan, alone, amounted to 2,997; three more American soldiers were killed the night of Obama's White House party. The total stood at 3,000.
Knowing that America's sensitivities to the danger of Islam are heightened, both by the World Trade Center attack in 2001 and the consequent military actions in Iraq and Afghanistan, one would think Obama would be bright enough to avoid praising Islam in such a honorable venue.
While Obama may lack Prometheus Society brain torque, he is not stupid. That, in my mind, makes him all the more accountable.
What Obama says and does are, with the notable exceptions of occasional gaffes, cold, calculated and intentional actions. Obama is purposefully setting a new course for America that steers it away from its foundations as a Western-cultured nation. He views our nation's history with regret and is determined to right what he deems as wrongs.
While Obama may not be extraordinarily brilliant, he is no idiot. Nor are his handlers and those "progressives" who are pushing out nation off the edge.
